Trajectories of State Formation and Building in African Societies

African traditional authority systems are still making headline news on the continent as a vital asset in the contribution of peace and political stability of African countries. This necessitates an important study of their migration, formation and building of the traditional authority states systems, which are African patrimony. The events of the second coup carried out by members of the MPS2 soldiers in Burkina Faso, saw the contribution of the traditional authorities in the mediation between Lieutenant Colonel Damiba and the new self-proclaimed leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, and avoided a bloody civil war that would have ensued in Burkina Faso after the Traoré coup in October of 2022[1].
