Introduction

It is quite necessary to reiterate that heart defects and Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) in particular constitute a major public health problem in the world in general, in Africa, and Cameroon in particular. WHO (2008) stated that 63% of death worldwide was due to chronic non-transmissible diseases. WHO (2014) confirmed that the burden of chronic diseases is continuously increasing worldwide. And these diseases contributed approximately 60% of 56.5 million total reported deaths in the world and 46% of the global burden of disease. In this regard, the burden of Non–communicable diseases (NCDs) was expected to increase to 57% by 2020. In 2017, WHO stated that cardiovascular diseases, CVDs stands as the number 1 cause of global death (Fact sheet, WHO, 2017). (Lire la suite dans le document)
